-
Half and full marathon attempts must be done at an officially sanctioned race, certified by a national athletic governing body e.g. USATF (USA Track and Field) or UKA (United Kingdom Athletics). For the purpose of this record races cannot be one-off races or be organised for the sole purpose of the record attempt. Races that do not meet these requirements must be sent to Guinness World Records for pre-approval and whether they are accepted will be at our discretion.
-

The competitor must complete the race. If they do not finish, the attempt is disqualified.

-
It is the participant’s responsibility to check with the marathon organisers that their costume is acceptable within the race organiser’s rules e.g. costume dimensions do not obstruct other runners. Guinness World Records will not check costume validity with race organisers on your behalf.
-
The costume must be instantly recognisable as per the record title’s description.

If any item of the costume is removed during the attempt (e.g. mask) the attempt will be disqualified.
